Emily Read was born in Barrie, Ontario, Canada. She currently lives in Montreal, Canada.

Emily’s work strikes a balance between realism and abstraction. Recurring themes in her art include natures’ fragility and power. Emily has a bachelor of Art and Art History from the University of Toronto and a Fine Art advanced diploma from Sheridan College.
This artist has exhibited her work throughout Canada, the United States, and South Korea. Most recently, in July 2014, a number of her paintings were shown projected on a building in Times Square. Emily has received many awards including the Art Gallery of Mississauga Award and the Paper Place Award from the University of Toronto. Most notably, her work can be seen on the cover of the latest issue of the Ottawa Arts Review. She continues to exhibit and sell her work regularly. Emily’s recent series explores the relationship between humans and abstract natural forms.
