Françoise Falardeau is a contemporary artist living and working in Beloeil, QC
I like to describe myself as a colorist expressionist marrying figurative art with strong allusion to the imaginary world. This is why I’m calling my style as “ Allusive”.
I have explored different mediums searching steadily for techniques that would ease any intuitive approach and bring me to create characters or individuals from my imaginary. This is done with fantasy, humour and with friendly wink to carnival atmosphere. Colours and forms indeed fascinating for me, through any mediums they will bring me to a level of emotional restlessness, bringing inspiring sensitive sans creative momentum.
Lately I’ve been using acrylic basically to ensure that the colours can be laid down speedily without stopping the artistic inspiration. This helps to keep me focus and bring alive different characters from the unconscious.
For me, the birth of any painting becomes a personal therapy and certainly an emotional liberation for any creator.
I’ve worked more than 30 years as a designer at “Société Radio-Canada” which is the French counterpart or CBC Broadcasting.
I like to say I’m a self-learning artist, although I have recently completed a certificate in art at the University of Quebec in Montreal (UQAM).
I’ve been rewarded in the last year for my work, especially in 2013 for the first Grand Prize (Desjardins) at “La fête des Arts” at the city or St-Basile le Grand.
One of my paintings has been honours at “Le Carrousel du Louvre” in Paris. Also several of my paintings were bought for private and corporative art collection.
