George Jovanovich

Picture
George Jovanovich is a native of the former Federal Republic of Yugoslavia.
His earliest recollection of active artwork harks back to his kindergarten years, when murals were his passion. It was the classical and time-tested “stick style” that appealed to him most. He eventually found himself using a camera. He started out with low-angle shots, a trademark technique that had made him so popular with his contemporaries.
Pier 21 was his first encounter with Canada where he took a more structured approach to art at Concordia University. Though oils were his chosen medium, he was willing to try almost anything.
He has worked and exhibited at Complexe du Canal Lachine. He is also fond of his days at Atelier Circulaire. His latest exhibition was a B&W photo event entitled “The Secret Life of Chairs” held at the Belgo Building.
In addition to the Montreal Art Centre, George is also involved with the Writers’ Bloc, a short-story outfit operating out of Griffintown. It is George’s opinion that life is good and worth living for – most of the time.
So, “Peace, Love and a freshly primed canvas.”
