Jeannette Pekari

Jeannette was born in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. Her mother noticed when she was at the early age of three, she was more interested in playing with art-related materials than toys. She expressed herself and communicated more so with drawings, than with speech.
She was often told by her teachers, private tutor and well-known artist/mentor, Mr.Williams, that she has talent. He recommended she attended London, England to continue her art education.
From l978-1979, she took the Foundation course of Fine Art at Byam Shaw. Afterward, she spent three years at the Goldsmith’s College (1979-1982) where she earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Textile and Fine Arts.
She exhibited two machine embroideries at Hampton Court, Surrey, England and won first prize for the poster "Atmosphere of the Cats at Le Carnet" which were displayed everywhere in the Cote d’Azur's walls, windows, etc.
In the summer of 1992, friends of her mother invited her to stay with them at Aix en Provence, where they own the house of the late Paul Cezanne. "I painted every day and I felt as though I was painting with Cezanne".
Since November 1986, Jeannette has lived in Montreal, and became member of the Montreal Arts Club, where she had solo and group exhibitions in the Club and Galleries like Gallery Deroches.
