The memory of once living in the coastlands of Georgia , Saint Simons, the Sea Island Coast Lands of which I began my adventure in the arts, at Glynn Arts and
The Left Bank Gallery, and of course Beaufort South Carolina of which I now presides, and is also Gullah Culture and continues to stretch out alone the interstates 95 and highway 17 as well as area of North Carolina .
The Gullah Origin and History began on African soil . During the Slave trade, captured Africans, destined for American plantations, were often retained in holding cells alone the West African Coastlines. The imprisonment brought together an unprecedented large number of different Africans together under one roof and form the basis for the outline and structure of what has become and is called the Gullah Culture.
My Art which is based on the Gullah realistic and creative life styles which depicts the uniqueness, creativity and action of the Gullah Culture of which I have acquired a different style of paintings of art which seasons and bring out the beauty of the future ,freedom and deliverance of the Gullah Society. Not denying the pass and history of the burden of slavery but rising above the dilemma of the pass , having pressed forward through many obstacles and obtaining a brighter future. My art speaks out in regard to the inter beauty of the Gullah heritage ,their accomplishments, and creativities. The deep and vivid colors are symbolic of every day life ,the lines and symbols, represents a continue extended era of new beginnings. Beaufort S. C. is filled with beautiful historic buildings . Landscapes, and Galleries which are visited my tourist from all over the world.
