Paul Coleman is creating small, talisman-like carvings

Picture
Paul lives in Queenstown, New Zealand. About 7 years ago, he became interested in collecting and studying gemstones and one day realized he could combine his love of art and design with stone.  Having no idea how to carve gemstones, he enrolled for a year-long course of Jade and hardstone carving at Tai Poutini, Pollytechnic in 2010. Since then, he has been building a body of artwork for exhibition.

At the moment, he is creating small, talisman-like carvings that look similar to objects, but are simply a study of three dimensional form in the endless possibilities of stone.
