Sophie Woolfenden enjoys working with pen and ink, oil on canvas, and pencil
Since a young age Sophie has been creatively inclined. Whereas most children spend their break-time in the playground, Sophie would spend time drawing.
This has never waned, and throughout her education she has been keen to keep creativity at the forefront of her mind.
Sophie studied Media and Cultural Studies at the University of the West of England where she was able to develop her photography and critical practice skills, and exhibited some of her work at Sideways Looks (2012), an exhibition held at Paintworks, Bristol.
Despite struggling to find a creative job, Sophie remains passionate about creating art at home and believes art can be accessible to all, inspiring the uninspired and speaking a language words cannot articulate.
Sophie enjoys working with pen and ink, oil on canvas, and pencil. She regularly receives commissions for tattoo designs and is hoping to embark on a tattoo apprenticeship in the near future. Her work portrays ideas centred around different aspects of flora and fauna, surrealism, and dreamy landscapes.
